What are the Techniques for applying local anesthetic

Techniques for applying local anesthetic: -

There are many techniques in dentistry, but the most used is the filtration technique for the upper teeth and the front teeth of the mandibular as well as the technique of the inferior alveolar nerve block, which we use to numb the teeth of the mandibular.
There are techniques for anesthesia in dentistry: -

1- topical anesthesia
2- infiltration anesthesia
3- nerve block anesthesia
4- intrapulpal anesthesia
What are the Techniques for applying local anesthetic

Each technique we choose according to the area to be anesthetized and the procedure.
The first technique is the local anesthetic: it is a gel, spray, or piece of cloth, which numbs the nerve endings only, and it is used when the patient suffers from severe fear.
The second technique is infiltration: it is the most used in dentistry. We use it to numb a specific area in the mouth. It is frequently used in the teeth of the maxillary and the front teeth of the lower jaw only.
It is preferable to use a short needle of this technique 20-25 mm.
This technique has three types:-
-Submucosal injection
-Subaroid injection
-Ultrasound injection

Important notes:
1. If you want to extract or filling one of the upper teeth, the anesthetic must be injected from the buccal side and the lingual side.
2. The needle should be inserted in the maxillary from the buccal side by about 1 centimeter, and from the palatial side, the needle should be inserted 2-3 mm deep and with a small amount of anesthetic, because this area is very sensitive.
3. If the purpose of the anesthesia is to fill, then one carpule is sufficient. If the purpose of the anesthesia is extraction, then one and a half or two carpule can be used.

As for the nerve block anesthesia type, we target the main nerve, in order to numb the largest possible area of the mouth.
There are several techniques for this type of maxillary, the most important of which are
-posterior superior alveolar nerve block we use when we want to numb the area of upper molars But it can be replaced by infiltration technology.
- The infraorbital nerve block technology for numbing the upper front teeth can also be replaced by infiltration technology.
- The maxillary nerve block technique we use to numb half of the maxillary teeth can also be used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

mandibular techniques
- long buccal nerve block
- mental nerve block
- mandibular nerve block
- inferior alveolar nerve block
The first three types are used very little, but the fourth type is considered one of the most used types in dentistry due to its importance in anesthetizing the teeth of the mandibular.
