Cipped incisor ( causes - tips - treatment - cast )

Cipped incisor

Broken teeth are very common in young and old without exception, you can break your tooth very suddenly and unintentionally if the tooth is too weak, that's really painful but it should be examined by dental a professional .
You might need a crown or dental onlay to restore the shape and prevent further damage

weak teeth are more likely to chip then strong teeth , there are several factors that make teeth weak including
alcohol that causes vomiting , which in turn can produce
enamel - eating acid
The pressure resulting from the habit of grinding teeth during the night, they occur involuntarily

Very large fillings weaken the integrity of the teeth and lead to cracking

Chew or bite hard foods, such as ice, nuts, or hard candy

Mouth injuries can also occur with a car accident, sports injury, fall or fight

Sudden changes in mouth temperature, for example, from eating something extremely hot and then trying to cool your mouth with ice water

Aging, as most dental cracks occur in people over the age of      fifty

Tips

In such a case, you should immediately go to the dentist to treat a crooked incisor , but this is not always possible. Accidents can occur at different hours a day and on different days a week where we can't always find a dentist available. In cases of serious injury should go to the emergency room But if you can't there are some tips that you can follow

Remove the broken part from your mouth

Keep the broken fragment in a container containing saliva

Sterilize your mouth with water and salt

Take some pain relievers taken without medical advice

Cover the broken tooth with gum so that it will not injure the lips and gums

Do not eat hot or cold food because the nerve is very sensitive

Do not eat harsh food and prefer warm soup

Treatment

Dental Filling or Bonding

If you have chipped off just a small piece of tooth enamel, your dentist may repair the damage with a filling. If the repair is can be seen when you smile, your dentist will likely use a procedure called bonding, which uses a tooth-colored composite resin.

Bonding does not require numbing the tooth. To bond a tooth, the dentist first etches its surface with a liquid or gel to roughen it and make the bonding material adhere to it. Next, the dentist applies an adhesive material to the tooth followed by a tooth colored resin. After shaping the bonding material to look like a natural tooth, the dentist uses an ultraviolet light to harden the material.

Dental Cap

If a large piece of tooth breaks off , the dentist may grind or file away part of the remaining tooth and cover it with a crown, made to protect the tooth and improve its appearance. Permanent crowns can be made from metal, porcelain fused to metal, all resin, or all ceramic. every types have different benefits

Dental Veneers

If a front tooth is broken or chipped, a dental veneer can make it look whole . A dental veneer is a thin shell of tooth-colored porcelain or resin composite material that covers the whole front of the tooth with a thicker section to replace the broken part

To prepare your tooth, the dentist need to remove about 0.3 to 1.2 millimeters of enamel . Next the dentist will make an impression of the tooth to be sent to a dental laboratory, which will make the veneer. When the veneer is ready, usually a week or two later, you'll need to go back to the dentist to have it placed. To place the veneer

Root Canal Therapy

If a tooth chip or break is large enough to expose the pulp -- the center of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels -- bacteria from the mouth can enter and infect the pulp. Pulp tissue can die and if it's not removed, the tooth can become infected and need to be extracted. Root canal therapy involves removing the dead pulp, cleaning the root canal, and then sealing it

Cost

Fixing a chipped teeth can cost (300 - 600$ ) but it may be lower or higher depending on complexity and extent of the bonding proces
